I'm listening to content during runs, downloading videos for flights, and staying current with every money-making framework whilst doing what used to be dead time. Plus I ditched Spotify (still working on convincing my wife to abandon iTunes for YouTube Music).

Sound familiar? That's smart copywriting at work - hooks, promises, and engagement optimisation for the algorithm. Brilliant for creators, terrible for your time.

I was planning to build a whole system using Make.com to automate this process. The concept was simple: front end interface where you paste YouTube links, webhook triggers grab the transcript, feeds it through to Claude for summarisation, then delivers clean insights back to you. Could still be a decent product actually.
Then I discovered something stupidly simple:
ChatGPT can read YouTube links directly.
That's it. No plugins. No complicated workflows. No transcript scraping.
Just paste this into ChatGPT:
"Summarise the key points of this video, including tools and actionable insights - here is the link [insert link]"
You get the goods without the time investment.
