First of all, apologies for the delay.

I would say it’s because I’ve been super busy with work, but in reality, I’m currently in Bruges stuffing my face with fried brown foods and drinking ridiculously strong Belgian beer.

Anyway, let’s talk about video.

I've wanted to get into video for years.

The problem? It always felt like a massive faff.

Filming, editing, learning new software, buying gear I'd use twice, etc, etc.

But here's what changed everything for me: I stopped thinking about creating video and started thinking about repurposing it.

The tool that made it click

I've been using OpusClip, and it's genuinely shifted how I approach content.

The basic premise: you feed it a long-form video and it spits out short, punchy clips optimised for social. Captions, formatting, the lot. Takes seconds, not hours.

But that's not even the clever bit.

How I'm using it

My ghostwriting business runs on outreach. And the best cold outreach isn't a templated DM — it's doing work upfront. Showing someone you've actually paid attention to their stuff.

The problem is, that takes time.

Recording a quick Loom, clipping their content manually, writing something thoughtful. It adds up fast when you're reaching out to dozens of prospects.

So here's my workflow now:

  1. Drop a prospect's video link into Gemini (Gemini 3 is super good!)

  2. Get it to write a post based on the transcript

  3. Ask for a specific timestamp worth clipping

  4. Feed that into OpusClip

  5. Send the clip with my outreach

Takes minutes. Feels personalised. Converts significantly better than generic DMs.

Shoppers are adding to cart for the holidays

Over the next year, Roku predicts that 100% of the streaming audience will see ads. For growth marketers in 2026, CTV will remain an important “safe space” as AI creates widespread disruption in the search and social channels. Plus, easier access to self-serve CTV ad buying tools and targeting options will lead to a surge in locally-targeted streaming campaigns.

Read our guide to find out why growth marketers should make sure CTV is part of their 2026 media mix.

The real business opportunity here

I run a ghostwriting service, so video clipping is just one tool in my outreach kit.

But if you wanted to build something around this? There's serious money in it.

Think about it: every entrepreneur, coach, and creator with a podcast or YouTube channel is sitting on hours of content they're not repurposing. Most of them know they should be posting clips to Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn. Almost none of them have time to do it.

You could charge $500-1,500/month per client just to clip and post their existing content. Land 10 clients and you're looking at $60-180k annually. For work you can batch in a few hours.

The barrier to entry is embarrassingly low.

You're not filming anything. You're not even coming up with ideas. You're just turning long content into short content using tools that do most of the heavy lifting.

The faceless channel play

There's another angle too.

You've probably seen those compilation channels on YouTube — "Best of [Podcast Name]" or niche topic clips. Most use awful AI-generated nonsense that looks like it was made by a robot having a breakdown.

But with OpusClip, you can take actual long-form content and clip the genuinely good bits. Build a faceless channel around a topic you're interested in. Monetise through ads, affiliates, or eventually selling the channel.

It's not passive income overnight. But it's a legitimate asset you can build without showing your face or creating anything original.

Don’t sleep on this

Video isn't going away. If anything, it's eating everything else in the age of AI.

But you don't need to become a YouTuber or buy a ring light. You just need to get comfortable repurposing what already exists.

OpusClip is how I'm doing that. Whether you use it for outreach like me, build a clipping service, or start a faceless channel — the opportunity is there.

Sometimes the smartest move isn't creating more. It's making better use of what's already been created.

More next week.
